Rita, your question reminded me of a quote I saved. After looking around I found it. This quote from Mme. de Gasparin may help:
“Be thou like a bird perched upon some frail thing, although he feels the branch bending beneath him; yet loudly sings, knowing full well that he has wings.”
What we call adversity, God calls opportunity because He has given us wings all we have to do is use them.

I recommend the book, “Changing for Good.” It outlines a system for self-improvement that includes many ideas for how to keep yourself progressing.
“Changing for Good” is based on scientific research conducted by a team of psychologists. They studies thousands of people who had made significant changes in their lives, e.g. quit smoking, lose weight, etc.
They found that these people went through six stages. For each stage, “Changing for Good” gives several methods to use to get yourself to the next stage.

I am looking for the name of a man who set goals as a young child – maybe like 16 or 17 or 14, I’m not sure which included things like visiting places and learning languages and learning how to play instruments (I believe he actually learned two).
He is pretty accomplishing many of these things and I am sure he is still alive but I completely forgot his name!
If anyone can provide me with his name, it will be a quick best answer.
Thanks so much!
