I am studying Family Theory. I am looking for clarification or other thoughts on this particular theory.

Note that I did not say that I subscribe to evolution of man, I am questioning the basic assumption of this theory which is based on another theory.

We looked online at the various providers. Each one has some “specialties” listed. My friend is needs help with stress management, and she has a lot of resentment towards her mother and she thinks this is affecting her relationship with her husband. We also thinkshe may have depression/be depressed because she cries often out of nowhere and she can’t sleep, lack of appetite and there have been a lot of things going on in her family. She is always questioning and second-guessing herself. Sometimes she will be fine and will start a fight or look sad for no reason, but the mood swings are not as severe to be bi-polar.
The specialties listed are : Cognitive therapy, solution based counseling, women’s issues, family, marital, anxiety disorders, affective disorders, anger management, behavio modification. I am trying to help her but we are so confused as to what she needs! Please advise. Thanks.
