Can you think of a case where a person would choose to be unhappy as opposed to happy?

lol! Not everyone is an unhappy nutbag but generally, how do you stay sane, happy and normal in a world that has lots of those other things in it?
I mean don’t those things seep in eventually or at least create a negative environment which can shape you to be worse, etc?
I’m sure it affects us all on some level, even subconsciously.

No middle ground. Me poor but happy with my lot as money makes so many unhappy. I believe that money is the root of all evil. I dont need luxuries I need to live and a little can go along way. I believe that having this computer is a luxury but I could live without it if it wasnt here. I do have luxuries but dont really need them to survive. Have a good day from Sandy in Australia.

I know this sounds weird but even on weekends and vacations I am depressed during mornings/daytime so I know it’s not neccesarily because of work. At night, I feel happiest. Its like the opposite of what I consider “normal”-light=happy and dark=sad. What’s wrong with me?

Just curious. Just want to see what people think about using adversity to drive them. Basically using negatives and turning them into positives. If you happy and content do you really have as much drive and ambition?

My cat has a mouth disease (not sure what it is) and it hurts her to eat. She does eat, but not a lot. However, she can be the most loving cat I’ve ever seen, and she purrs a lot. Does this mean she’s happy or do cats purr for no reason? I don’t want my cat to have a miserable life. I’d rather have her put down than hurt all the time. I love my cat and hopefully your answers will ease my decision. Thanks.

Hi,
I have an essay and try to gather some ideas.
What does happy, unhappy, and ambiguous ending in films contribute? And how important is the ending to the overall experience, effect or ultimate meaning of the film?
Thanks!
