Everyone needs dreams and ambition.

What do you mean by measurable?

The whole purpose of setting goals is to hopefully achieve them. It helps build a healthy lifestyle with a great self-esteem. Now I don’t mean the people with big egos. By self esteem I mean:

- A measure of how much you value, respect, and confident about yourself
- How you feel affects everything you do
- Affects how you communicate with others and what decisions you make about your health

Goals are life skills that help enrich ourselves. When setting goals there are basically 6 S’s that people use.

1. Safe goals should not be harmful to you or others
2. Satisfying. You should feel good about yourself when you reach your goals
3. Sensible. Set realistic goals that you can really hope to achieve
4. Similar. Set goals that work well together and do not contradict one another
5. Specific. The steps to achieve your goals should be clear
6. Supported. Your goals should be supported by friends, parents or others responsible and have a positive influence on you.

There is also something called Maslow’s Triangle. It really says that things we do in life (like setting goals) helps us reach self-actualization. We learn self actualization by moving through the many steps in life along with challenges.

Hope that helps! I am learning these kind of things in a health class I am taking
