What are some effective ways to prevent procrastination?
I tend to procrastinate a lot, and I think it’s starting to somewhat affect my grades. Can anyone tell me some good time management techniques? I’ve also heard that procrastination is more common in pre-20 year olds, because the frontal lobe is not fully developed, and thus we find tasks such as time organizing harder then for an adult.

I’m 27 and I still procrastinate, its a bad habit in my opinion. I think it just has to do with motivation. If there is something that I want to do then usually it gets done first. The best way to stop procrastinating is to do things in steps. Say you are given a project on Monday and it is due Friday. Start a little part of it Monday, then some more on Tuesday, etc. Even if you only work on it for 15 minutes at least you got some of it done. Then you would not have to stress on the last day to get what you need to get done, done. I hope this helps. GL =)
In my experience, setting small goals for myself leads to less procrastination. For example, if I have a big project to get done. I’ll break it down into small tasks and pencil them into my calendar. This way I am motivated to do small simple tasks, and I don’t get burned out from trying to accomplish too much.
Check out the page below. It outlines this process…
Good luck!
I tend to procrastinate a lot. I don’t know if this will work for you, but just pretend the assignment is due a day or two earlier. I tend to start working when I think it’s due because I know I have to do it. Now you’ve tricked yourself into doing it earlier. Idk…maybe jut go into a room without distractions?
