I had the same problem. I also see it in my kids now days that are GT.
The thing I had to do was train myself to write it all down. You need to get a student planner and write down due dates etc immediately. The brain loves color(it helps us remember more) so you might want to keep highlighters with you and color code each subject. Once you have completed something that is due, draw one line through it with a black sharpie. Just having a system down like this should help you stay on top of it all. YOu also need to make sure that you look at your calendar or planner daily! And look ahead monthly so you can see what is due that month and what you need to start working on.
And hey if you are really good with your persuasion skills, maybe you can use the need for organization to persuade mom or dad to get you a palm pilot, electronic organizer, or cell phone with the capability to keep track of everything. Just a though.
Good Luck!
get a planner! also, get an assignment notebook with tabs for each class. the planner is to remember events, due dates, test dates, etc. the assignment notebook is the write down assignments AS SOON as you get them in class each day. the only thing you need to remember at this point, aside from writing down dates and assignments (which you should do as soon as you get new info, which means carrying the planner and notebook everywhere), is to read your planner and notebook each morning and evening. You’ll do great this year–good luck! =)
