What Are Some Things To Do To Improve Your Self Esteem When It Comes To Feeling Unattractive?

I have low self esteem right now – I have been told that I am attractive but this past year I have gained a little weight – getting older – just feel ugly in general and it seems like each month I am more and more depressed about it. What can I do or what things have anyone else done to snap out of this? :(

Start a regular exercise program and keep consumption of caffeine and alcohol low as they are depressants. Good luck !

You have the control to loose some weight if you want. I broke my ankle and gained 15 pounds in my cast – felt miserable about it. I joined Jenny Craig and have lost 20 pounds already. Go get your hair cut and colored, and register to get a great makeover at a Bare Escentuals store, or one of the makeup counters at a department store.
Its tough to get out of a rut, but at some point you have to get out and do something about it. Are you depressed about anything else and need medical treatment? Make the appointment and get it. I also joined a community group, which forces me to get out of the house.
Good luck – you have to keep telling yourself you can do this – and every day will get a little bit better.

l want to give you myself as an example. l was incredible fatty and so low esteem 5 months ago but then l started to think of myself why everything come on my way and l asked thousand of times is it my fault or its just bad luck ? so after l find out the answer l started to do something for myself , the first thing l thought what l want for myself and how to get my wishes so l understood that it was the first rule believing those because wasn’t to believe means the half of success?
at first l was too complicated and didn’t know what to do , l wanted to share those things with one but l didn’t have any friends to share so l realized my best friend was again me.
what about now? OK. let me say.. l got all my wishes about l want.. l still want more and more but remember the first thing help you is to believe the things you want then don’t worry everything you want will come to you maybe even more than you think maybe even more than you can imagine ..

Do things that make you feel attractive. Start working out, running, and after a while you’ll start feeling healthy. The better you eat, the better you feel. Trust me on that. When I just consume veggies and fruits and I work out, I feel like a million bucks.
Or you could work at a store that has mostly male workers, as they will flirt with you no matter what–huge esteem boost.

For some time hangout with your trusted friends and partners only. When you have regained a little self esteem, you may or may not work on your figure. Anyways you can get back to normal life after this, say two weeks of seclusion from strangers and people whom you need to impress.

the most important thing is that i feel i am attractive. what other people think is attractive doesn’t really matter. when i feel better about myself i feel more attractive. like when i am accomplishing something or testing my limits, doing things i didn’t believe i could do. exercise helps a lot. but you have to stretch and improve in other areas of your life.
accept your flaws as well. allow yourself to be imperfect. maybe you don’t look the same as when you were 16 but that doesn’t mean you are unattractive. focus on health and a having a postive outlook.

I have gone through this, but you have to realize that if you feel good about yourself it will show. When would feel bad I would go get a new outfit get my nails and feet done, get my eyebrows waxed, etc.
I am in a better place now. I am somewhat overweight, but i have finally came to accept it and know that I am pretty no matter what.

Same here mama i have 2 kids and my body is not the same. I’m not over weight but my stomach went from flat to flabby. I’d don’t always feel good about myself although my husband and friends compliment me from time to time.
But to get me out of the depressed zone i
I do things that make me feel pretty so this is what you should do….
Wake up and take a bubble bath have sum music playing and just relax.
Then when ur done get ready.
apply lotion to your whole body (soft skin make a person feel sexy)
Put on sum clothes that u feel great in
try a new hairdo (i love to go on youtube.com and find tutorial videos on hairdo’s)
I have pale skin so i like to wear fair makeup not too much just enough to compliment my face Example…mascara eyeliner and lip gloss I also wear bare minerals foundation it gives you a real natural look u cant even tell you have it on (see link below)
Then go out shopping….Buy lil things like a cute shirt or dress maybe a new lipgloss or even a good book…

Get healthier, adopt a sunny disposition, do things that will help you have success you can feel good about. Cut sugar out of your diet. Helps me BUNCHES. Oh, and don’t dress or fix yourself like you feel ugly. Do it like you feel vibrant.
