What are some ways to manage time better?

2

I have a lot of books I need to finish reading, but in my free time I end up doing all sorts of other things, mostly wasteful. I used to be more organized as far as not letting things distract me. Now I just say “when I get around to it” I will do this and that, but the list keeps getting longer without so much getting done. Any tips?

buy a notebook and take some time and jot down your work that must be done, its like a school chart

Everyone gets in a rut now and then. Try and treat this like a discipline issue. No kid wants to brush their teeth at night, but parents force it until it becomes a habit.

Be your parent and “discipline” yourself. Make sure you do your work first and build it into a habit. All it takes is a mindset of commitment and practice. Split up your tasks for different days of the week. And look at the list every morning. I think “tricking” yourself by saying, I’ll only work for 10 minutes is a great start. You might be done in 10 minutes, or you might just have motivated yourself enough to finish the tasks of the day.

About the books, maybe you just want to do something different? Ask yourself what you really want and what you want to devote your time to. Practice getting your work done and then do the things you really love.

Good luck and be happy!
