What are ways to uplift self esteem in a young girl?

She takes piano lessons weekly and is popular with her firends at school….but here and there, I notice little things that indicate that she may need a little self esteem boost…and she’s 8 by the way.

She needs more confidence in her looks and her confidence in her abilities.

Don’t worry about it, let her do what she wants and don;t get involved.

I wouldn’t worry about esteem in an 8 yr old. She is popular and a little shyness is charming. You don’t say where she could use a lift. In her studies? Her looks?
Is she maybe too meek? A little more info would help.

Edit: OK, I think if she were my daughter, I would take her shopping and buy a new outfit or two in a style that is fashionable – as long as it is not the Britney Spears look. And a chic new hair style she can pick out. It should make her feel more ‘cool’ and would naturally boost morale. When we feel good, we just do better. Maybe that is all that is needed. She is pretty normal for an 8 yr old. Good luck, mom.

well u dont want to give anyone an ego boost just a self esteem boost.

1. talk to her about it she is young so talk about good self esteem, only she can be one to build it up.

2. Have her just feel the good feelings inside her instead of looking for approval from her “popular friends”

3.Take care of herself. Exercise, eat well and tend to your appearance

4.have her repsect others and be truthful..not being honest leads to bad feelings about oneself.

5.be postivie about everything she does. if she continues to think negativily she will lose self esteem.

6. Forgive oneself of everything they think they have done wrong (negativie thoughts)

7. and just let her be a kid

She needs more confidence in her looks, and in her confidence, and in her abilities.
