What Do You Do When You Have No Motivation To Do Anything?

4

I’m in the Army and every day drags me deeper into depression. I no longer have the motivation to do any sort of activity, whether it be read or go out and have fun.
I spend my days just sitting here on the computer, doing absolutely nothing. I don’t have any motivation to change my situation, and don’t really care if I change, but I know I’m wasting my time and my life.
Life sucks when you’re a slave. The life drains out of you. How do you fix that?

Depression can be very difficult to deal with. If you haven’t already, you should probably go talk to a clinical psychologist, and decide whether having treatment or not is the best thing for you. My advice would be, while you’re in the Army, try to look into something else you can do with your life after you get out of the Army, so that you can start trying to make yourself happy.
I know what you mean. Sometimes I struggle to get out of bed in the morning, and sometimes I just don’t for an extra couple hours. You just have to try and push yourself to be better. It’s too easy to fall back into the rut of being introverted and hanging out by yourself. You quickly forget how much fun it is to go out and experience new things.
If you want, you can start it slowly; try picking up a new instrument or something along those lines. You can then progress to either being more involved in your community, going out to meet new people, etc. etc.
Good luck.

get some books on Life on the
Side… learn about how to prepare yourself for life on the other side, learn what goes on over there by those who have near death experience, there are tons of material to occupy you and benefit you

You are temporary unavailable for some things or people.
Make the best of it. Improve yourself for the future life — learn a new skill, educate yourself, take care of your health and your body.
All these will be your assets for the life after the army. the more of them you have the better the rest of your life will be

There has to be something you don’t like about being in the Army, something that is leading to your depression. I think I know why you are like this, so no need to worry. Personally, when I have absolutely no motivation or if I feel depressed, I forget about my self and my problems and I help those in need. Such as being on Y/A, but giving help and motivation to others who are having a tough time and ask for help.
It makes me feel better, and I feel more of God.
Most likely the cause of depression in the Army would be the understanding of what is actually happening and what your really doing on the job. God Bless you for having the reaction and bravery to have the mindset of protecting your brothers here.
You have the ability to choose as you want, you have free will.
You do not have to follow what someone tells you, you have to follow your conscience.
I want to show you some videos and the first one is a very good and motivational gathering by people just like you, please watch all of it.. and it may give you some things to think about. The second video is just a video to motivate you to keep moving on and God is taking care of you. I hope you feel better, we are all in this together.
