Basically you get help with trying to find better outlets for your anger and ways to manage your reactions so you can control your temper. Some counseling sessions may try to help you find the roots of your anger as well because if you can figure out why you have problems with your temper, it is easier to control it. You may be led through some role play situations to demonstrate how you can react to a tough circumstance as well. Some techniques may include relaxation and breathing exercises, counting to 10 before you react to something, retraining the way you think so your reactions can be more positive, learning better ways to communicate what you are feeling, and even just learning to laugh at a situation to really put the importance of something in perspective so you don’t get worked up over non-issues.

there’s usually a group discussion w/counselor and other ppl having anger management courses where they tell what & why they get angry
and there’s usually role playing therapy to teach how 2 deal w/anger issues..
