What Is The Difference Between Self-regard And Self-esteem?
I’ve seen psychology texts refer to “high (or low) self-regard,” and I’m wondering if this is just an alternative way of referring to self-esteem.

They are related but not the same. Self regard is what you think other people think of you, so it does affect how you feel about yourself. The only thing is, you don’t know what they are really thinking. Plus, they don’t know every single thing about you, so this is based on what you think they know. Self esteem is how you feel about yourself as an individual, knowing yourself as well as you do.
I think it’s the same thing.
