What Is The Human Motivation To Reproduce?

7

I was thinikng about this the other day while driving.

What is the fundamental motivation for humans to reproduce outside of instinct?

Lonliness? Possibly something forced upon us by society since we were young children? The need to feel needed?

What do you think?

In the Bibble, God said, Go and Multiply….

In science it is natural for living beings to reproduce because of the urge to pass on their genes… somthing like that

I don’t no about you but I want someone to be there when I’m to old to take care of myself.I took care of my kids now it’s their turn to take care of me. Tit 4 Tat as they say.

It’s more than loneliness

Human fear death and thru years, civilizations tried in vain to find the “immortality potion”. Everyone wants to be immortal, the child is like a part of us that will carry on our name, our blood, so (i think) one will feel that he’s still there even tho after his death

Id say its an emotional one. You see babies and you think they are cute. Its not like we need babies to survive like a pack of wild dogs that need to ensure their existance. If i dont have children, its not like the whole world is going to die. I think people want to have children to establish a level of achievment in society. I mean, if you look at a couple and they are living together, get engaged and get married, the next logical step is to have babies and everyone thinks they are the happiest couple in the world even if someone is cheating on someone or the husband and wife dont even like each other, they have a sense of stability and achievement. People percieve them as being successful. Its because humans have a higher level of consciousness that they need this approval from others.

The fundamental motivation for reproduction is the preservation of the species. It’s encoded within our genes, to ensure that our species do not die out. Well, not out of lack of sexual intercourse anyway.

The human, or humane standpoints are numerous.
Anyway, we have to see what context of “reproduction” are you talking about.

If it is just about sex, and why people are motivated to engage in that act, that query itself has multiple complex answers.

One reason, out of many, is just that it is an innate need to breed, which capitalizes on our experiences (past and present) to feed itself, and grow. From my point of view, this is bad, as when you feed it, yes it will grow, but it also grows hungrier.

Another reason is that sex is perceived as the ultimate thing a person can receive, when it comes to being loved. It is the perceived ultimate assertion of love. It involves emotional, mental and physical sacrifices at a level that can usually be termed “intimate”. (Note that although I did say that it is “perceived”, I do not support this perception at all.)

But to cut things short, everyone has different reasons for reproducing, or making love, having sex, doing the horizontal tango, bonking, or whatever they call it nowadays.

What’s yours? Nah, just joking.. Each to his own, I always say…

SEXUAL DESIRE is the main thing; reproduction, a side-product or effect.
