What Should Be Said In The Motivation Section In A Dissertation?

I dont know if you are American but I am in the uk and did my dissertation at uni and got a first class for it. I did it on motivation in the workplace but didnt have a section called motivation. Is there an alternative word then> Also dont use own opinions. What you use must be backed up by other people.

Avoid any personal reasons if you can as that would bring down the credibility of your work quite considerably. If you really want to mention something make it brief and don’t use 5 million adjectives.
