What Weight Do I Need To Set As My Goal?

6

I’m 5’9″, 185lbs, and wear a size 13-15 in juniors jeans, depending on the brand. My goal is to fit into sizes 7-9. What weight should I be aiming for to succeed? I’d like to be there by the end of October if possible.

you could guess at about 10-15lbs to drop a size. so probably around 145-150. but everybody is different and loses weight differently

Hello,
Honestly, what you should be aiming for is not to fit into any particular size of jeans, but to achieve a healthy weight. One that would not land you with any health problems or deficiency diseases. An ideal weight for you is around 152 pounds. If you like you can push it to around 135, but you don’t want to be too skinny. To achieve this by October would entail a lot of sacrifice and hard work. As far as diet goes, you can try the Glucerna shakes for weight loss or any other diet shake like Slim Fast, etc. Have one for breakfast and one for dinner. Avoid snacks. For this period you should avoid fruits as well. For lunch have lots of salads and vegetables without the dressings, with either peas (if you are a vegetarian) or grilled chicken or turkey breast, preferably turkey. Avoid red meat, and anything fried. Avoid cheese and sugar. You can eat as much vegetables as you like since vegetables are negative calories, which means that the more vegetables you eat, the more energy your body would need to digest them, hence the more calories you would use up (trust me, the weight loss from that alone is really good). Raw vegetables work better than cooked ones.
As far as exercise goes, a good walk (about half an hour more than your usual day’s walk) should work at least 3 times a week, and if you can, include some dancing in your daily routine, even if it is for 20 minutes a day. Dancing is fun and if you put yourself into it, you really burn those calories.
Remember, pace yourself, and the Idea is not to starve yourself. If you have a large appetite, you should see your doctor for some safe, mild appetite suppressants.

This is a tough question. One guideline is 100 pounds up to 5 feet and 5 pounds for every inch after that. For you that means 145 pounds according to that chart, but I don’t know if I agree with that completely because it does not take into account peoples own muscle structure. Some people are very naturally muscular and some people have large bones.
I think if you lost 15 pounds you would feel great and you would be the size you want.
I know that they have 6 foot models that weigh 120 but they are FREAKS! Do not use them as a guideline.

135-140 would put you in that size range. I was 125 when i was a size 5 and i’m 5’6. If you add about 5 lbs to each inch then that would make you about the same. Eat 1400 calories (3 meals of 400 and 2 snacks of 150) drink green tea and water, and run 30 min to 1 hr exercise and you should lose weight.

I am a girl… duh. and i am 5’10″ and just about 140 pounds. im a size 4-6 tho. im doing yoga and eating healthier. the max i could lose would be maybe 8 pounds, and still be healthy and everything. my bmi right now is around 19.6 which is pretty low. don’t expect to see dramatic results for at least 5 weeks. trust me, tho, it kicks in. keep ur metabolism up and only eat when you are really hungy, not when you are bored or SLEEP DEPRIVED!!(cause that tends to be my problem). good luck!

You should set a goal weight for October. Then have smaller goals to meet along the way that way you meet them and don’t get upset along the way because October is a long way.
