What would you say is the first step toward self-improvement?
I’m not looking for one “correct” or standard answer to this question; I’m wondering what your own take or angle is on this.

realizing that you have flaws and that you want to improve yourself…but then again u got to remember that no one is perfect so maybe there is no need to improve yourself
My take on it is, the first step is to start thinking better of yourself, and treating yourself better.
i would have to say to acknowledge whatever happened in the past, in order to prevent from making the same mistakes over again!! Acceptance is the key to our self-improvement, b/c without acceptance we are just stuck in one spot reflecting a dead end!!!
Once one has decided to improve ones self, the first step toward self-improvement would be a willingness to make the necessary changes in ones behavior even if by making the change ones live would be uncomfortable for a bit.
Really seeing yourself as others see you. We all have this idea of who we are, but sometimes you see a picture of yourself and notice the gray hair or the pot belly, and in your mind you are still a 17 high school student. You need to see yourself as others see you and then work on making adjustments. (not just physical, by the way)
Me, I will learn from mistake, because mistakes are what make us being improved.
The first step is self-awareness.Which is to say, recognizing
my flaws and limitations. Then after that I can formulate
a plan of action to change the situation.
Not realising that you NEED to improve, but realising that you have a DESIRE to improve.
