That’s a long term goal as opposed to short term because you haven’t met anyone yet. It’s good to know what you want in life and it sounds like you know what you want. Make a list of attributes you want in a mate and start looking with the key word being tentative on that date thing–there’s no rock hard necessity to pick a precise date.

maybe, if he met her, really liked her, and just had “that feeling” that she was the one. i have seen it happen

It depends what you want in life. As a guy if you are trying to be productive at a job that takes up all your time, a goal of dating or getting married would be counterproductive. If you want children, dating or getting married would be a productive way of working towards that end. Setting a goal isn’t being productive. Working towards a goal that you have set is. You might want to go into a bit more detail on your question, so we might be able to respond better next time.

Needs to be more that that. setting goals is a beginning. Earning enough money to support a wife and kids. Most of all at a mature age to be in a marriage

It means that he will probably want to have an education, money in the bank and be stable before he wants to get married….is he very neat and organized??

maybe not a boy but a man may. He perhaps may feel that he hasn’t reached certain goals in his life to marry someone.
