Who Do You Contact For Anger Management For A Thirteen Year Old?

4

Jared gave good referals. If you have a local mental health agency that is the very best place to start. It also depends on the degree of anger, that the 13 yrs old is exhibiting. Yelling screaming and such is something that needs to have a handle put on it. But if it’s hurting herself or other or damaging other peoples belongings then that is something that needs to be dealt with now. God Bless Reggie

Try asking them what makes them angry and if there is any way you can help.
I remember being an angry thirteen year old and when my parents drug me to a counselor I resented them so much because to me they were just telling me by this action that I was the root of all the family problems.
I was really just depressed and wanted someone to be on my side.

you could try to involve the child in a sporting activity, sorry if that sounds glib, not all parents have the resources to get their child involved in after school activities, if you live near a medium to large city or metropolitan area there will be some good choices for the child to channel normal childhood anxieties and stress, again sorry if this does not apply to your situation, and finally there is one sport that is unique in its ability to help an angry child, jiu-jitsu(brazilian), there are so many other good choices, soccer, swimming, skateboarding, football team, basketball team, my 2 cents

The local mental health clinic, Mental Health Unit at a hospital, your local NAMI visit http://www.nami.org, seek out a local psychologist or social worker from social services or a private one, Hope this helps? :)
