Who Is Happy With The Soon To President Obama?

24

I am happy cause it is someone who has been poor. So I hope that help for health care is on the way. I know that taxes will not change. But for the first time in a long time I have hope for the people who hold up this country. How do you feel.

Not here.
Re: National Defense – He looks to be setting things up to gut the CIA and increase the likelikhood of an attack on the USA.
Re: National Healthcare – Might want to research national healthcare in France. 75% of the people also carry private insurance. Also, check out how England’s national healthcare system doesn’t provide certain care for smokers, cancer victims, the obese, and the elderly due to cost/benefits. Also, look up the problem of “stacking” in England. The government mandates a wait of no more than 4 hours in the doctor’s office so people are left in ambulances to get around that. The yellow brick road isn’t coming anytime soon to America.

You have hope? Hope for what? Higher taxes. Higher spending. More bail-outs. More government hand-outs. Some bureaucrat in Washington deciding what you can and cannot have for you health-care. I have been poor and I have been behind on bills. I work and work hard. I have saved my money. I want the government to take less of what I work for and allow me the privilege of deciding how to spend my money. I don’t want some lackey telling me what I can and cannot have for health care.
I will continue to support the office of President of the United States but Obama has yet to earn neither my respect nor my support.

What good is it to eat at the lunch counter if you cannot afford the food*
what good is it to ride in the front of the bus if you don’t have the FARE?*
With out wage earners what good is it to have a *poor boy president?*
You need wage earnter to make this country WORK

I’m happy so far. He has made excellent choices for his Cabinet and he’s obviously willing to reach out across the aisle. I think that the combination of he and Hillary as SOS will make for some real improvement in our relationships with other countries. It’s unfortunate that he has to clean up so much of Bush’s mess before he can really get to work on many of his excellent ideas. But at least he seems competent enough TO clean up Bush’s mess. So far, so good.

I feel disgusted. I have always taken care of myself and I expect other people to do the same. For the ones who can’t, I expect that they will be given the help they deserve, instead of some lazy loser who has become a brood mare for their state. I think its pathetic that my taxes will be raised because other people can’t balance their checkbooks or improve their own lives.

Jason @ 3:11 pm #

Well we will see how he does but as far as him being poor, come on now. He went to Harvard and poor people do not go to Harvard. His mother was poor but he was raised by His grandparents who are well off.
This country is a mess and it is the fault of both parties. If they will ever come together and work for the good of our country then things will get better.

hesitant @ 4:51 pm #

I’m eager to see what he will do while he is President. After he gets in office and starts making things happen, I’ll tell you if I’m happy or not. He hasn’t done a thing yet and people are already crazy about him. His is GOING to make mistakes. Everyone does. We’ll just see who’s happy with him then.

monster @ 7:54 pm #

Was he poor when he was a senator
Maybe he was poor when his wife got a $300k a year job
Maybe he was poor when he bought his million dollar home
Ya I feel happy now since his wife doesn’t have to work and he can
have a job that pays less than she was getting. Hippie Kie Yae

You have no idea how right you are when you say there is hope for the people who “hold up” this country. That’s all it’s going to be is a hold up.

nashvill @ 4:04 am #

sorry I didn’t vote for him, so no I don’t think he will change things for the better. I don’t think he is what this country needs right now. But that is just my opinion.

S V @ 10:22 am #

I am happy that he will be President! I’ll let you know if I am happy with him after he actually does something.

1 free American @ 12:43 pm #

he has proposed huge tax increases (and then proposed tax cuts, it seems he cannot make up his mind)
we already have healthcare if you don%2

Your horns are showing Morris. @ 6:25 pm #

I’m looking forward to America getting its respect back. We’ve been embarrassed for 8 years too long.

Master of the Pooniverse @ 8:38 pm #

taxes won’t change? he’s initiating tax-cuts as soon as he gets in office.

Oh really, Obama only been through struggling being on his own to get his way into Senate and it only lasted a short time as he wrote two books that gave him the billionarie status than some of average people really experienced being poor for rest of their lives. Obama is just doing what democrats believe for years, the reason he is a democrat, take tax payers money to cover the cost to give the help to the poor, like telling” the well off people to shut up and give me the money” through tax every April!
And, Jason is right. Obama had spent most of his life living with his grandparents who are well off, his grandmother was a president of the bank in Hawaii, the president of bank earns $90,000 a year plus his grandfather earn little less but still could afford to help Obama into Harvard. How many poor parents can afford to send the child to Harvard, it is very tough to get in unless you have a better strings to the club of elites.
My parents are well off, I must admit. They want to include my sons(2) a part of their trust fund for their education since my husband makes not very much and is tougher for a deaf person to get into many places where they acts not know how to deal with any one who is different just because the stupid sterotype myths, just like some blacks have to deal with” gang myths”. I think Obama just want to be a something different by attended to Harvard than go to all black University -Howard University where also has good law in there, plus Obama must have wanted to be a top lawyer and have a political ambition,I guess Obama chose Harvard for that reasons, and happened to have his grandparents who can afford to make his dream true to go to his choice. With my parents money, I went to Humboldt State University in North CA because of has good wildlife dept I love in there. If you like Obama, that’s fine, I really believe Obama is just doing what as a democrat President doing. Almost all of former democrat Presidents put health care as they invest in. it is really democrat issue. Republican President does care about the health care, not as big issue as Democrat’s, because of the spending issue which belong to Republicans. I don’t see what point you are talking about holding up this country. It has to be do something with people how they make the decisions. I would just wait and see how things going after President elect Obama takes on January 20th. It is really silly to second guess everything before Obama swores in!
