Germany’s socialist party just lost their worst defeat in over 50 years and countries such as France who have participated in “cap and trade” for over 4 years say studies have shown it has not improved their air quality at all or lowered temperature. Most climatologist that I have seen interviewed say the Earth is going through a natural change just like it has in the past and state, “That the temperature increase is man made is a bad platform to state the cause for cap and trade.” Climatologist claim nothing man is going to do will change the fact the earth is going to rise 2 degrees over the next 100 years. They claim the cap and trade argument is better represented on the basis of clean air rather than increased temperature. However, what cap and trade does do is exactly what our president said he will do “spread the wealth” to less industrious countries from wealthy ones.

I don’t think the desire to improve life is limited to one political party. Everything can be improved and that involves change.
Thomas Edison said “Show me a thoroughly satisfied man and I will show you a failure.” I’ve been a citizen of the USA for 76 years and I hope to God we never accept the status quo as being the ultimate goal.

Because of the inequality present in our country—from jobs to wages–Democrats and liberals have been trying to change things for the *better*.
Conservatives on the other hand…?
Would rather keep the status quo intact and the misery to continue unchecked.
After all, that’s what goes on in a ‘capitalist’-run nation.

Barry The liberal wakes up in the morning and takes a shower in his safe bathroom because Conservatives fought hard so that housing development quality standards are safe.
Barry then goes to McDonalds and orders a cheap McMuffin that is affordable for all because some Conservative entrepreneur decided to start a franchise and give jobs to thousands so people could eat a cheap meal.
Then Barry goes to work following th traffic signals some genius team of Republican engineers designed and gave to the government so the streets could be safe.
Barry then goes into his office, works all day and doesn’t get killed by a terrorist in a plane because some Republican fought hard to have laws passed that cracked down on suspected terrorists and prevented multiple terrorist attacks

Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water to prepare his morning coffee.
The water is clean and good because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards.
With his first swallow of water, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought to ensure their safety and that they work as advertised.
All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer’s medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance – now Joe gets it too.
He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Joe’s bacon is safe to eat because some girly-man liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.
In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labeled with each ingredient and its amount in the total
contents because some crybaby liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained.
Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some environmentalist wacko liberal fought for the laws to stop industries from polluting our air.He walks on the government-provided sidewalk to subway station for his government-subsidized ride to work. It saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees because some fancy-pants liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a conributor.
Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some lazy liberal union members fought and died for these working standards.
Joe’s employer pays these standards because Joe’s employer doesn’t want his employees to call the union.If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed, he’ll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some stupid liberal didn’t think he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune. It is noon time and Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe’s deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some godless liberal wanted to protect Joe’s money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Great Depression.
Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and his below-market federal student loan because some elitist liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his lifetime. Joe also forgets that his in addition to his federally subsidized student loans, he attended a state funded university.
Joe is home from work. He plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive. His car is among the safest in the world because some America-hating liberal fought for car safety standards to go along with the tax-payer funded roads. He arrives at his boyhood home.
His was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers’ Home Administration because bankers didn’t want to make rural loans. The house didn’t have electricity until some big-government liberal stuck his nose where it didn’t belong and demanded rural electrification.
He is happy to see his father, who is now retired. His father lives on Social Security and a union pension because some wine-drinking, cheese-eating liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn’t have to.
Joe gets back in his car for the ride home, and turns on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn’t mention that the beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day.
Joe agrees: “We don’t need those big-government liberals ruining our lives! After all, I’m a self-made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like. I have.”

If we wanted our country to sink into mediocrity, then the status quo is the fastest way to get there. Those who prefer a nation at the forefront of science, technology, and social issue votes for change. No wonder the Dems won the election.

Good God. We got rid of slavery. Do you not like that? We got rid of child labor. Do you not like that? If conservatives were in charge of things, we’d still be carrying spears.

You don’t seem all that happy, with your obessions with killing, bombing, execution, torture, war, imprisoning, etc., etc.

If you’re so obsessed with the status quo, turn off your electricity and rip out the plumbing in your house.

the problem with liberals are they will always want more, you can give them 100% of everything they asked for and then some, and then they will want more stuff that makes even less sense.
you give them gay marriage, even tho they have civil unions, then they will want intermarriages, yeah like 3girls and 1 guy, or 3guys and 2 girls, 5 guys only etc…. that sorta stuff, and if you don’t give it to them then then there going to go nuts and burn down city hall, there is no end to these people. no matter what they want more, and its because its the way they are, they always want something that they can’t have. and then want something else and something else.
conservatives are people who have grown up and know whats good in life and how to live happy, liberals are kids who never grew up and always wants something else.

Liberals always want to change things so that the government will provide more for everyone… because basically they are lazy. They don’t want to work for anything for themselves – they want ‘free’ health-care and other entitlements and handouts. They think they can finance a utopia. They just don’t live in reality.
In the real world people have to work hard and it pays off. They don’t like the “work hard” part of that sentence.
