Why are people secretly happy when something goes wrong for someone else?
I’ve noticed this amoung women who claim to be friends – they are secretly happy when a relationship breaks up or someone loses a good job or if you make a mistake.
Why be happy when something goes terribly wrong in someone else’s life?

cause when it comes down to it
everyone is selfish and everyone is
at the top of their own list for practically
everything…
Because its a chance for them to look good. pathetic, huh. Thats the world for ya
Man, I hate how things happen like that. But I know why.
It’s because in one way or another you may be jealous of that person. You’re happy because your life is going better than that person’s, and you’re not the one having a hard time. Pride, I think is the main thing here.
Because they are unhappy people inside and they carry around so much negative energy they do not want happiness for anyone else. Any emotional painful experience can be used for fuel for the unhappy person. That is why they thrive on negative thinking and drama in relationships. They are addicted to unhappiness.
I try to stay around happy “real” people for this reason.
in our society, we have lost sight of bein happy for ourselves, instead we get a lot of enjoyment of seeing someone else fail at something that either they were jealous of, or that is still going great in their life, because it means that the person who fails isn’t any better. instead of bettering ourselves to be the best, we hope for others to fail to make us the best.
