Will I go to jail if I don’t finish my 6 months anger management by the court date scheduled?
I have a misdemeanor charge against me and I’m doing everything that the court ordered me to. I’m currently attending anger management I’m about half-way done, but I’m worried that my due date will arrive just before I finish up my 6 months? Can’t I request an extension and will the judge have mercy seeing that I am attending and trying or will he just say oh well you didn’t finish in time and lock me up?
Thanks Christi!

As long as your attending and can verify this you won`t go to jail they will extend your cout date. If you can get a progress report from your teacher that states you are participating and progressing well it would be a smart thing to do.
I have taken anger managment and completed the course so I know a lil` sumthin about this.
I mostly agree with Christi – most judges will look at your overall progress and grant an extension before remanding you. However, you might want to attempt to go before the judge now (or when you are sure you won’t finish in time) and inform the Court of your circumstances. The Court will appreciate it and will be much more likely to allow you additional time than if you come in on your completion date and go, “Oops, I didn’t finish.”
Why ask that question here. All will get is opinion. Ask the judge. Duh.
